Dealing With Trauma

This post never posted for some reason and I'm reposting it thanks :)

First off, I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Weldon family after his death in Las Vegas 10-16 at LVMS....this all leads to why I'm writing this tonight I've been asked "How do you do what you do in the ER and keep you emotions in check?" Thats a very good question and I will do my best to answer.

For those of us that chose to work in the medical field learned very early on (for me I started working in a hospital in Orange Calif 1976) that you either had the where with all or didn't to be able to emotionally handle all the stuff that comes in.
Thats it for the short version lol and thanks for asking

The Twin Gatorade 125s is over with the field set for the Daytona 500 set for Sunday 02-26.  It was the first time I've sat and watched the entire race to see who is going to make the Great American Race.
There was the usual wrecks, but the one that was bad was rookie Danica Patrick got tagged and went flying off the track hit the safer barrier thank GOD and walked away.
I'm sure she had her beg rung, going 190 to 0 in seconds hurts and hurts alot, but with all the safety surrounding NASCAR drivers she is sore but good.
I've had a good week, had a bout of the 24hr flu got hit by a MAC truck but now good.
I'm wondering when something is going to be done about the out of control gas prices AGAIN!!! Washington doesn't get it....I don't care about a singing President I care about the millions of people out of work and those that are working but on fixed incomes now being faces with this added expense including myself.
Who am I and other making Billionaires with CRAP??? It's time that the good American Folks raise up and YELL "WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE ANYMORE".
That is from a one my favorite movies Network Albert Finney got it right and I think it fits all of us today.
Thanks for letting me rant, have a great evening

From Track Side with Melli & Other Stuff
http://thepioneerwoman.com/
Good Morning, happy Saturday to you all....I love the weekends even though I have to work them it's still my fav time of the week.
Please check out the link I've posted The Pioneer Woman it's one of my very fav's Ree Drummond is the blogger and has a show on Saturday on the Food Net Work it's a great show which I look forward to every Saturday.
On Nascar, it's day 2 of practice today is for the 500, lots of changes and they are shaking the cars down.  The changes are EFI instead of carburetors, bigger plates for the plate tracks and deck lid wing changes.
It's been challenging for some teams but with this time to test so to speak they will get it.
Wondering how Jach Roush is dealing with no more CARBS!!! We shall see, Fords are looking very strong, stay tuned.
Have a wonderful weekend, and check out Pioneer Woman's link you'll enjoy it.

From Track Side with Melli & Other Stuff

The 11th anniversary of Dale E's death is Tomorrow. The picture posted is from Eddie Gossage Pres of TXMSW and I laughed thinking of all the wonderful memories of I have of his sense of humor that alot of people didn't get to see.

The 2012 Nascar Season is getting close to starting with the 125's this week, the Bud Shootout on Saturday night and the Daytona 500 Sunday.

I'm looking forward to seeing Mark Martin now racing for MWR (Michael Waltrip Racing) and in a Toyota which will be a little strange, but still good to see him racing.

Have a good Friday coming up everyone

Don't Worry Its All Good

From Track Side with Melli & Other Stuff
Don't worry it's all good let me tell you why!!! I have a great job working in a great hospital with a great staff.
I gave a great husband Brian who after 29 is my best friend he still makes my heart swell when Im with him and miss him when he's gone.
My father Jerry 91 is doing good for a guy his age he is an amazing man whos had an amazing life Im very lucky that I still have my dad around.
I have wonderful in laws Ann and Rob they have always treated me like there real daughter what a blessing they are.
Although I live away from the one place on planet earth Orange County and the beach, I love living in the small town of Boulder City....it's the lil town that built the 7th wonder of the world Boulder Dam, I love being away from the insane Vegas.
It's all GOOD
Today was the first day of testing at Dayton seems Hendricks cars all did well, I'm not really thrilled about racing as I once was guess thats what happens when you get old like me lol. I miss Mark in the 5 and I know I'm going to draw the IRE of some, but Kasey Kahne just doesnt fit there he really doesn't fit anywhere.
This isn't personal but with years of watching drivers work/driver their asses off and attain top status in cup Kasey has not done so, In my humble openion.
Kasey didn't do much with his last team, and he only gets up on the wheel when he needs to impress, that my dear friends has don't happend to me lol
Mark my words on this and watch the 5 this and tell me that Mr. Hendrick made a mistake.
Ciao for now hugs

Happy 2012

I want to wish you all a happy 2012 may you all have a great year. I don't make resolutions but I am going to get into shape this year or better shape I slipped on 11 due to a year long funk, which I'm refusing to have in 2012 lol.
Brian and I are doing great busy with work and just life in general....Dad is 91 and doing well, slow but well and as for me I'm good with a new attitude.
I'm going to spruce up our house which will take most of the year I really am in the mood to shake things up with coastal living colors bring a splash of the ocean in the house I love the ocean as I born in San Diego and I really miss it, so that will be nice when it's finished.
For our vacation we went to Norfolk VA staying at the Colony in VA Beach which we love...it's a very very nice condo complex right on the beach. The weather was great our good friends Gary and Maria kept us busy and we had a blast we miss them but keep close on my NEW IPAD 2 which I love love.
Brian traded his 2004 Avalanche for a 2009 and let me tell ya that is a totally cool ride I love it. It's sea foam green with the chrome package, running boards, burl wood on the dash and center console, it's bling lol.
And my kitchen is all updated with a new 5 burner refinished hood and a new double oven all in black, I don't like the look of stainless steele, guess thats due to working around it in the ER for 35yrs lol.
Last but not least on the Nascar front...2012 will be interesting for all teams. Some are underfunded, same as with Rusty Wallace Racing he's closed his NNS shop for 2012 sad sad. Kevin Harvick Inc closed the CTS shop and sold it to RCR.
There is an abundance of drivers needing full time rides or just rides period that is also due to the lack of funding. Roush Racing has parked the #6 for the year :( that breaks my heart as that was the car Mark Martin drove for 18yrs, oh well we all need to stay positive and just pray our Country continues to rebound.
That's it for now and I know I've said this before but this time I mean it I am back and I WILL rant this year you can count on that.
Ciao for now and have a blessed week
